The Artery Community Roasters

We’re excited and proud to be offering coffee with conscience from our friends at The Artery Community Roasters. Their mission is to provide meaningful employment to people living with disabilities, while providing delicious specialty coffees directly-sourced from farmers. Recognizing that people living with disabilities normally only make 70-75% of the income earned by people living without disabilities, The Artery provides stable employment paid at a living wage, with regular salary increases, to employees who all identify as living with a disability. The coffees are sourced through Semilla Coffee - small-scale importers who care deeply - allowing The Artery to operate with only one to two degrees of separation from the farmers who grow their beans. The Artery also cares about the environment, sourcing the best packaging possible, and using vermicomposting to transform coffee waste, including packaging, into garden gold. They roast their beans on an innovative fluid bed roaster from their home base in Canotek business park.
